First impressions of Dynamics CRM 2011 are very good. The CRM 2011 team have clearly focused on the front end look ‘n feel and MS Outlook in particular.
From a data point of view here are a few points to note:
- Global picklists (about time!)
- WCF service
- Transactions
- Assign to teams
- Fetch XML is becoming more important in the CRM offering
Now the Hyper-V environment is up and running, we are starting to build a set of SSIS components that will allow enterprises to import and integrate with Dynamics CRM.
More information will be updated at http://www.crmssis.com
Any updates on this?
Yes, due to be released with CTP2 of SQL Server 2011(Denali) which is rumoured to be the end of April. Delayed due to limitations of SQL Server, and should be available shortly after the release.
Will keep you posted, thanks for the interest.
So, SQL 2011 will be required to use your SSIS components? What kind of limitations are there with SQL 2008 R2? Reduced functionality or nothing works? Thanks.
Hi Jeff, while it could be done on SQL 2008 R2 there would be reduced functionality, and our preference is to wait for SQL Server 2011 CTP 2 – unless there are further delays.
